Add another Dem to the too chicken to face the voter’s wrath column. Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will announce today that he will retire.
Bayh said he grew tired of serving in Congress:
"After all these years, my passion for service to my fellow citizens is undiminished, but my desire to do so by serving in Congress has waned,"
I think Bayh knew he was going to get his clock cleaned. How can the man sell himself as a moderate and then go right along with that awful healthcare bill? This is going to be the quandary for all so-called moderate Democrats who voted for the Senate’s healthcare bill.
This should be a very easy pick up for the Republicans, bringing them on step closer to gaining control of the Senate.
