Info Post

It looks like Obama and the left are finding out the hard way that George Bush might have known what he was going regarding Gitmo:
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has decided to continue to imprison without trials nearly 50 detainees at the Guantánamo Bay military prison in Cuba because a high-level task force has concluded that they are too difficult to prosecute but too dangerous to release, an administration official said on Thursday.
However, the administration has decided that nearly 40 other detainees should be prosecuted for terrorism or related war crimes. And the remaining prisoners, about 110 men, should be repatriated or transferred to other countries for possible release, the official said, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the numbers.
The whole idea of closing Gitmo, always had more to do with opposing everything Bush did, than anything to do with reality. Obama’s decision to making closing Gitmo his first priority always seemed to me to be Obama’s willingness to believe all leftwing talking points on the issue, rather than taking the time to really look into the matter.

Obama’s whole handling of terror in general seems to be like he is trying to follow liberal dogma rather than dealing with the realities at hand. This is why we have such a mix mash terror policy. Obama starts out by following liberal beliefs and then when confronted with stark realities he deviates from the liberal point of view just enough to address the issue at hand. This is why we have two sets of rules for handling terrorists. One set of rules for those caught here and another for those on the battlefield.

This approach is reactionary rather offensive and is simply not aggressive enough to deal with a persistent enemy.  It is only a matter of time before terrorists end up several steps ahead of us and then we will be in for a world of hurt.
