The wife of embattled South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) announced Friday morning she is filing for divorce, saying in a statement that she decided to dissolve her 20-year marriage after "many unsuccessful efforts at reconciliation."
Jenny Sanford said "the dissolution of any marriage is a sad and painful process" and added: "I know it will soon become known so I choose to release this brief notice that I am now filing for divorce. This came after many unsuccessful efforts at reconciliation, yet I am still dedicated to keeping the process that lies ahead peaceful for our family."Good for Jenny Sanford! I applaud her for first trying to do the Christian thing and forgive, but when that wasn't working she did the right thing and dumped the bum. Mark Sanford could not have been a bigger creep to her. All that blathering on and on about the details of his affair. What purpose did that serve?
Think about this too, Mark Sanford was a guy who the GOP leadership was touting as a 2012 candidate. Says a lot about why we need change in the COP leadership.
